•  Letter to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office () from Mrs Jean Mc Bride of Belfast demanding that the FCO cease to do business with Aegis Defence Services. The CEO of Aegis is former Scots Guards officer Tim Spicer.
  Should Aegis remain on the FCO list of potential bidders for contracts Mrs Mc Bride will seek legal advice with a view to challenging this in the courts. Aegis was one of six companies bidding for a £40 million FCO security contract in Afghanistan. On November 29 the FCO awarded the contract to another firm. Mrs Mc Bride welcomes that decision and now calls for Aegis to be removed from the list of potential Government bidders for 'security' contracts.

  As US Senators call this week for an investigation into the awarding of a private security contract in Iraq to Tim Spicer because of his involvement in the Peter Mc Bride case read of the links between Spicer and another former Scots Guard, Simon Mann, who is languishing in a Zimbawean jail. His arrest is of course linked to that of Mark Thatcher, son of Margaret, in South Africa.
